PSE Compound Bows

PSE compound bows was founded by Pete Shepley in the 1970's while he worked for Magnavox. Pete used to design the bows and refined his ideas while at lunch and those ideas grew into the largest archery company in the United States and possibly the world.

He introduced his first pse compound bow at an archery tournament in Indiana. Before he knew it he had 200 orders and within the next month 700 more came in for the bow. Pete set up a 700 square foot shop in Mahomet Illinois and applied for a patent.

In 1982 PSE Compound bows moved their entire operation to Tuscon Arizona and now take up almost one city block in Tuscon. The facility is about 143,000 square feet.

PSE was one of the first companies to machine risers and accessories from aluminum and pioneered a four stage process that makes them stronger and lighter.

They hold 20 patents and their research and development has helped the sport of archery grow and has benefited the entire industry.

Back when I got started shooting bows, or should I say when I picked up my first pse compound bow I bought a PSE Fireflight. At that time it was one of the best compound bows on the market. Even then with its steel cables, teardrops and fastflight string it was a shooter. I never had any problems with the bow itself and took a few deer with it.

Today a lot has changed with the beyond parallel limbs of the X-bows, another one of Pete's designs. The X-Force bows are one of the fastest if not the fastest bows on the market. Many guys love them and I have shot the bow. It was smooth and really fast but it wasn't the bow for me. We're all a little different and like different things in bows and the original X-Force just didn't do it for me.

The cams have changed a little since then and pse compound bows has greatly expanded the x bow line-up to now include single cams. Those bows are blistering fast as well and many people love em. I have not shot one yet but I probably will soon.

If your looking for a blistering fast, smooth drawing compound bow, the pse compound bows may be for you. Below is our line-up and it changes constantly so if you don't see what your after check back.
